Nikola Motors is known for its electric vehicles related to on-road and off-road. Besides earlier models, the company has launched EV and other sport vehicle but Nikola NZT off-road EV is best among them so far. The NZT is a four-wheeler with modern dune buggy built for off road. Nikola hopes that this $80,000 priced vehicle will set a mark for the market in 2021.
The NZT stands for ‘net zero toll’, a one-liner on its no-emissions capabilities. The vehicle offers quite some power though, and it’s all packed up in a dune buggy-like package.
Nikola NZT off-road EV
In order to allow a clean and neat ride, the NZT can completely seal you away from the elements. Besides that Nikola NZT off-road EV features an HVAC system for either heating or cooling. While talking about the structure of this new off-road EV vehicle, it has 35 inch tires with a motor at each wheel.
Coming inside, the dashboard contains a 13 inch display and a 7 inch instrument cluster. Hence, it will be more often will b used for adventure purpose, both of them with an IP68 waterproof rating. And for the tech, the update will be done by the air software updates, so that is another worry off the shoulders of the owner.
Now the engine, the NZT equipped with engine with 590 horsepower and the company claims that it can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4 seconds. The vehicle will also be able to go for 150 miles on a full charge, thanks to a pretty serious 125 kWh pack.
On the other hand, The NZT’s on-demand four-wheel-drive system uses a separate 400-volt AC motor at each wheel. While, the electric motors are IP68-rated for water and dust proofing. On top of that, it features a 3,000-pound towing capacity, and can spend 30 minutes in up to a meter of water.
